In the summer of 2018—just a little more than 16 years since I received my undergraduate degree from Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore—I started a new job as a clinical assistant professor several miles north of my alma mater at Towson University. Prior to this appointment, I worked as a clinical audiologist in a children’s hospital and now for the U.S. Army Reserve, as well as an educational audiologist and teacher at a school for the deaf.
