All this week, speech-language pathologists and other professionals or families can view free, educational videos on treating voice disorders. Part of the Vocal Unity International Summit, several of these sessions were created by SLPs—including Jackie Gartner-Schmidt, Edie Hapner, Tracey Thomas and Nathan Welham—and focus on professional development in this area. Additional presenters include physicians, teachers, music therapists and people with voice disorders.
The videos were created to celebrate World Voice Day on April 16 and began streaming that day. They will continue through April 21. Nonprofit organization Vocal Unity sponsored the summit in an effort to bring together experts in the field of vocal disorders. Various presentations are posted each day and are available free for only 24 hours. You can access archived videos for a fee.
